Open Hands Food Pantry was founded in 1982 and has been housed in the lower level of the St. John's Episcopal Church since that time, providing emergency food, toiletries and other items to residents of Oakland County.
The food pantry is staffed entirely by volunteers and is supported by donations and grants from outside agencies, as well as in kind donations from various local businesses and individuals. Open Hands is now a stand-alone tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Information on this status can be supplied by request.
Hours of Operation - Clients must present photo identification showing Oakland County residence.
- Mondays 12:30 pm - 2:45 pm.
- Saturdays 9:30 am - 11:45 am.
Location - Open Hands Food Pantry is located in the basement of St. John's Episcopal Church at the corner of Woodward and 11 Mile Roads.
- Enter the parking lot from 11 Mile Road.
- Come in the glass double doors on the East side of the Church and straight down the stairs.
