Dia de los Muertos

Creating the ofrenda: Saturday November 4
10:00am - 2:00pm

Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead): Saturday, November 4, 10am – 2pm (in the Church) Come learn about and participate in a Día de los Muertos [Day of the Dead] celebration right in our church!  Building on this Mexican tradition, everyone is invited to come to the church to work on making an ofrenda in honor of a deceased person(s). If you have craft items to use and/or share, please bring them with you. Some things you might want to consider include:

·       Photographs of loved ones

·       A shoebox or other small container to house your ofrendas (so you can take it home later!)

·       Brightly colored paper, markers, crayons, glitter or glitter glue

·       Scissors, tape, glue etc.

·       Small objects that represent the person/people you want to honor

·       Skeletons and skulls from the Halloween stores or Hispanic Mercados around town

Bring your family and friends to enjoy the fun and fellowship. This activity is for all ages. If you are unable to come to the Saturday session, you are welcome to make your own ofrenda at home and bring it or other photographs and mementos to add to the display on Sunday, November 5 for a festive and celebratory All Saints Day! See you soon!
