The St. John’s community is welcoming, diverse and fun.

As a community we love to get together in many different ways: Christmas Party, Tiger games, dinners at parishioners' homes, breakfasts after Sunday services, and many other activities. Many activities are inter-generational. Fellowship naturally accompanies ministry activities and projects as we work together. Here are a few of the ways we enjoy each other's company.

  • Breakfasts on Sunday - On the 1st Sunday of the month from October to June a breakfast is served in the lower level of the church after the 10:15 service. This provides a great time for getting to know other parishioners.
  • Coffee Hour - After the 10:15 service on Sundays when we are not serving breakfast, we gather in the West Transept to have coffee, tea, lemonade and goodies to catch up with each other. Each week different people and committees act as hosts and hostesses.
  • Welcome Newcomers Committee - The Welcome Newcomers Committee puts on a range of social events during the year including Game Nights, trips to the Detroit Institute of Arts and other cultural spots, attending area plays, pot luck suppers, Tiger games, picnics amd related kid-friendly events.
